Prominent South Florida PR Expert Linda Hamburger to be Honored by Association for Women in Communications

Boca Raton, Florida – One of South Florida’s most respected Public Relations professionals, Linda Hamburger is to be honored on Tuesday, April 26 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. by the Association for Women in Communications South Florida Chapter, for her achievements in public relations, advocacy, and as a mentor to countless others through her role as the founder of the South Florida Public Relations Network, President of On Call PR and On Call Resumes. The event will be held at the Blue on the 27th floor of the Boca Raton Resort & Club.

Anyone familiar with Linda knows that she loves to network, mentor others, and has spent a career providing her expertise as a volunteer and PR professional to nonprofit organizations. Linda believes in public service and has always made volunteerism a part of her life. Most notably, Linda served on the Board of Directors for Broward County’s National Alliance on Mental Illness and has been an outspoken advocate for increased funding in the state for both caregivers and those suffering from severe mental illness.

Additional nonprofit organizations and activities have included: Multiple Sclerosis Foundation; Florida Association of Nonprofits; Little People of America; Detect Ovarian Cancer in Time (Doc-It Foundation); Lauderhill Regional Chamber of Commerce; Florida Scholastic Press Association District Conference; All Experts Career Advisor, among others.

Linda also devotes time to her own organization, the South Florida Public Relations Network which she founded on Labor Day, 2006. Membership now includes thousands of PR professionals taking advantage of her daily compilation of local public relations industry news, industry events, people notices, and the occasional anecdote from her own tales acquired in the trenches of a PR career.

“The South Florida PR Network and On Call Resumes were inspired by my own experiences,” says Linda. “Breaking into this career and staying in it, is not easy. Public Relations is perceived as a glamourous job and it can be. However, the skills and talent require a tremendous amount of patience, software knowledge, ability to write at a highly professional level, and the juggling of multiple tasks while happily speaking to reporters even though a client, boss or co-worker just took you to task! It’s never easy, but always interesting.”

“We are delighted to welcome Linda to our fabulous venue in celebration of her being honored,” said Roberto Colombi General Manager for The Blue located on the grounds of the Boca Raton Resort and Club. Tonya Scholz, president of the Association for Women in Communications South Florida Chapter said that Columbi has generously sponsored and hosted monthly events for her organization and will provide guests with tastings from Chef Christie Tenaud’s fine cuisine. Guest will also enjoy Happy Hour prices food and drinks.

Try to make it on time; the sunset view at The Blue is breathtaking from the top floor of a 27-story tower at Boca Resort.
