Wayne Curtis, the publisher of the Daily Report, will take on the role of regional group publisher for ALM’s South region, overseeing the Daily Report in Atlanta, the Daily Business Review in Miami and Texas Lawyer.
Curtis joined the Daily Report in 2012. He had been a regional sales manager for Elsevier, where he was responsible for corporate sales management in the Americas for the publishing company’s online chemistry and pharmaceutical databases. From 1994 to 2005, Curtis held different positions with Reed Business Information, including group publisher for a division magazine group and vice president and general manager of Reed Construction Data in Norcross.
Curtis’ expanded role is part of a transition at ALM, the Daily Report’s parent company. Hal Cohen, group publisher for the Northeast region, will become vice president and group publisher of all ALM regional publications. In that capacity, Cohen will add responsibility for the three publications in the South as well as The Recorder in San Francisco.
Cohen said in a memo to ALM employees that Curtis "has done a fantastic job" running the Daily Report and is "perfectly positioned to take on this expanded role."
Carlos Curbelo, who oversees sales operations for both the Daily Business Review and the Texas Lawyer, will take on the role of regional director of client development. He will add the Daily Report to his sales management responsibilities.
Curtis takes over the group publisher role from Chris Mobley, the Daily Business Review’s longtime publisher, who is leaving on July 18.
Mobley has been with ALM for 15 years. His contributions have helped ALM transform into a digital-first publisher while protecting the legacy of some of ALM’s strongest regional brands.
