Public Involvement Firm in West Palm Beach Florida Keeps Community Connected and Informed By Offering a Holistic Approach to Clients Throughout the State

West Palm Beach, Florida (PRWEB) June 20, 2014

Led by fifth-generation Floridian Sharon Merchant as TMS president, the firm works with clients to guide them through the processes of business development, through Government Relations, Marketing and Public Involvement, which consists of a series of activities and actions to both inform the public and stakeholders, as well as to obtain input from them which will influence decisions that affect their lives regarding transportation, and other day-to-day activities.

This enables agencies to make better-informed decisions, and builds mutual understanding and trust between the agencies and the public they serve.

We want to be a part of the vibrant business community, networking, and building alliances so that we can help others grow in the community, said Merchant.

The Merchant Strategy performs public involvement tasks, including holding public hearings, preparing collateral materials and websites, publicity, public relations, and advertising for the past decade, to keep the clients and the community informed and connected.

Examples of projects that might require public involvement are complex road projects, large underground utility projects, or siting of a new landfill. In each case the lead agency (Florida Department of Transportation, Solid Waste Authority, Cities, or Counties) may be required to include public involvement as a critical part of the project to inform the public well in advance, to work in a collaborative manner to answer questions, and to resolve issues before any work begins.

Public Involvement is often a requirement for transportation engineers, road and highway construction contractors when performing jobs for Departments of Transportation, and City and County agencies. TMS has performed public involvement for the City of West Palm Beach, the Florida Department of Transportation, and various engineering companies, including Calvin Giordano, Stanley Consultants, and CDM.

Merchant Strategy has well performed tasks related to public involvement on a number of different contracts with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and various other pursuits, said John Downes, Manager of Florida Operations, Stanley Consultants, Inc. We have been very happy with the services provided by The Merchant Strategy and look forward to a long and fruitful business relationship, long into the future.

Public Involvement, sometimes referred to as Public Outreach, can also be utilized to inform the public about small business opportunities in the community. These usually have public funding, such as the new Convention Center hotel, being built in West Palm Beach.

With the State of Florida investing a record $8.8 billion in the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), to make strategic transportation improvements throughout the state, there will be numerous new projects that require the public involvement services that TMS provides.

It really is all about relationships, says Sharon Merchant. We all like to do business with people we know and trust.

Merchant has served her community and her state as a Florida State legislator, a small business owner and civic volunteer. The dedication of Merchant, and that of her team, guarantees that TMS will continue their strong commitment to their South Florida clients.

The firms clients include a whos who among city governments, non-profit organizations, and industry leaders in transportation, architecture, engineering construction, environmental services, utilities, energy production and manufacturing.
